At Jersey Lavender we dry approximately 10% of our lavender crop. This is laid out on mats in our Jersey sunshine to dry naturally. The drying takes just a few days with some sunshine and a gentle breeze. The lavender is then hand-rubbed from the stems, and the precious lavender flower buds are sieved to separate them from the majority of the stems and any leaves.
The result is fragrant and colourful Jersey Lavender dried lavender flower buds. For our bulk lavender, generally we supply a blend of our Lavandula angustifolia (English lavender) and Lavandula intermedia (Lavandin) species. The angustifolia has a softer, more floral lavender scent, and better colour whilst the intermedia has a more robust, penetrating scent. In our opinion, for lavender bag use, you get the best of both by blending the two types of lavender. If you would like only one of the types of lavender please let us know.
REGRETTABLY, DUE TO PLANT MATERIAL IMPORT RESTRICTIONS WE CANNOT DISPATCH TO DESTINATIONS OUTSIDE EUROPE (e.g. USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND)
