Lavender Plants

With 9 acres of lavender and one of the National Collections it is no surprise that we also sell lavender plants. We are now able to offer a small selection by mail order and are working to provide more in 2008.

Please read our "Looking After Your Lavenders" advice and our "Looking After Lavender FAQs" when purchasing your plants.

All plants will be dispatched separately from other products.

Hardy English Lavenders

Hardy English Lavenders

English Lavender and sometimes known as 'true' lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is the plant that we might all know from Gran's cottage garden.

They are hardy in the British climate, and typically grow to about 60cm high, with grey-green leaves and short flower stalks. These lavenders produce the softest, best quality oil for perfume and aromatherapy use.

Decorative French Lavenders

Decorative French Lavenders

French lavenders (Lavandula stoechas) are increasingly popular, having a long flowering season. They are not as tough as the English lavenders but they flower all summer long and need little watering.

Typically they have "ears" on top of the flowers. An all summer long display of these vibrant flowers is sure to brighten your garden.

Lavender Seeds

Lavender Seeds

Generally lavender plants are raised from cuttings and not from seed. This is so that you can be sure what the parentage of a new plant is and therfore what it will look like. However it is straightforward and fun to grow you own lavenders from seed.
